Cronton Masons and Mark Masons remember

13.11.16

For the first time the Widnes Group of Freemasons has been represented at the Cronton Village Remembrance Service. Cronton being a village near Widnes and is the home of a number of Widnes Freemasons.
John Baldwin, John Gibbon and Frank Thomas
Widnes Group Secretary John Gibbon, who is a Cronton resident, laid the wreath on behalf of the Widnes Group of Freemasons and was accompanied by John Baldwin along with Frank Thomas, who was representing Clarence Mark Lodge No 447 and Wilbraham Mark Lodge No 523 that meet in Widnes.

The short but moving service, which was led by the three church groups in the village, was followed by an excellent rendition of the Last Post, and after two minutes’ silence, reveille was sounded. Following the reveille, wreaths were laid by local organisations and residents in memory of all of the fallen heroes.
